After working with local communities on issues like homelessness and hunger, I wanted to incorporate a cultural element to my volunteer ventures. What better way than to travel to a country on a continent I have never before been! And work on business models that are directly in line of my interest!
Living with a community much different from the ones I am used to will open my eyes in ways I cannot yet imagine, but I am very excited for the opportunity to get to know people in rural Rwanda, and work with them for 2 months over summer. While our trip is focused towards developing self-sustainable projects to help the community, I am sure what I learn from the people there will be a lot more than I have to offer to them. Either way, I cannot wait for this adventure to begin!
