Hi guys! Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page for the Indiana University chapter of the Global Human Rights Brigades. Global Brigades is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization, and has been a large presence in the Indiana University community for many years. However, this year we have organized the first Human Rights Brigade program on the Indiana University-Bloomington campus. This particular Brigades program aims to empower rural communities in Panama to overcome the obstacles that impede on their basic human right to legal representation and justice. Working directly with Panamanian lawyers, we will provide severely needed pro-bono legal counsel to families in these communities, as well as providing educational workshops which will allow these families to become more familiar with the legal system and empower them to fight for legal representation in their own communities.

In order to accomplish these goals, we are traveling to Panama over Spring Break in 2014 for one week. However, the cost of this venture is relatively large, so I'm hoping that with help from family and friends like you, I'll be able to make this inspiring and life-changing trip this March.
