Passionate About:

Put simply I am passionate about two things; adventure, and food. It took me years to learn that food wasn't simply a necessity to be scarfed with haste, but more of a question to be pondered. I learned at a young age though, that an adventure doesn't have to be a journey to the center of the earth or following a treasure map with a band of pirates. An adventure can be as small as finding a new path off your favorite route to work, or as large as hiking the entire Pacific Crest Trail. Your life is an adventure, however its so easy in this day and age with taxes and mortgages to forget the journey we all began as children, to have fun and grow. High school has been a mixed bag of wind on my trek through life, I've seen myself triumph and fail, seen myself be shown immense charity and immense oppression, seen myself work hard and hardly work, I've seen myself struggle and prevail through poverty. What would be an excellent end to this chapter in High school, and milestone in my adventure would be an ecology campaign with the Global Student Embassy.

Harbor Panama Summer Break 2016

Gregory's Message

At Harbor there is a club, The Global Student Embassy, in the club we sponsor multiple events such as garden work days, sustainable farming talks, and a chance to travel to foreign countries and support a different community's experience of farming and growing their own food. This summer we are going to Panama to help spark up a school's community garden in Balneario. I want to go because I believe that when you know where your food comes from you are humbled by your community and we need nothing more than humility in America. The initial cost of the trip is $2389 I have already received the first half of my fundraising goal. I hope you will donate to my cause to help me turn this great goal into a great experience. Thank you in advance to everyone who donates, I truly do appreciate your help.

Volunteer Activity Description

Travel to Panama and help us break ground on our school garden program in Balneario! Students will work alongside youth activists to start gardens, and plant food forests, then travel to the Mamoni Reserve and visit some of the last primary growth rainforests in Central America. The trip will wrap up with a vacation portion including a trip to the Panama Canal.
