Crean Lutheran High School aims to improve health care access and sanitation infrastructure for children in under resourced communities abroad. Health Squads are designed for aspiring health students to build medical knowledge through skill-based volunteering, build cultural competency through immersion, and deliver real impact through our local team by participating in live clinics. Crean Lutheran HS - Global STEM

Crean Lutheran High School aims to provide access to clean water in rural under resourced communities through applying STEM skills. Our student volunteers work alongside local engineers to assess, design, and construct infrastructure projects that range from rainwater harvesters that supply drinking water for local schools to large scale community-wide water systems that pipe water directly into households. Creighton Prep (NE) Global Medical Academy

Creighton Prep (NE) aims to improve health care access and sanitation infrastructure for children in under resourced communities abroad. Our Squad travels abroad to conduct mobile health clinics for children that include primary health care and vision and dental screenings. We also learn about and address some of the systemic issues behind preventable diseases in the community by implementing health workshops and building handwashing stations alongside local students. Each of our student volunteers has a donation goal to help cover logistical expenses while abroad such as transport, local staff, meals, insurance, accommodations, but most important, the year-round follow-up to our project by local staff to ensure the sustainability over time. Cupertino High School Global Business Squads

Cupertino High School aims to inspire entrepreneurism and financial literacy abroad for youth in under-resourced communities. Our Squad helps create small businesses for partner schools to diversify funding and teach real-world business skills to their students. As volunteers, we mobilize abroad to provide start-up capital, financial literacy workshops, and create areas in community banks focused on child savings programs. Each of our student volunteers has a donation goal to help cover logistical expenses while abroad such as transport, local staff, meals, insurance, accommodations, but most important the year-round follow-up to our project by local staff to ensure the sustainability over time. Global Health Squads mobilize students to help improve health care access and sanitation infrastructure for children in under-resourced communities abroad. Global Health Squads is a program of Global Brigades, a highly recognized international development organization that uniquely implements a Holistic Model that targets specific UN Sustainable Development goals within partner communities. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably transitioning to a relationship of impact monitoring. Cyrus Peirce Middle School

The Cyrus Peirce Middle School group, led by Spanish teacher Janet Emack, plans to return to Costa Rica for the second year. As a Global Education Squad the group will again partner with an elementary school to improve educational outcomes. The group will stay at our private and safe home-base accommodations Cartago where our local professional staff provide all transportation, food, lodging, and activities. The group will be matched with a local school where they will spend each weekday morning completing valuable small construction projects and classroom support. Each afternoon the group will embark on fun and engaging guided cultural and adventure activities around Cartago. On the weekend the group will travel to La Fortuna and Arenal National Park to explore the rainforest, waterfalls, and zip-lining! See attached flyer below for more trip details and pricing.
